Jami Attenberg is the author of Instant Love, The Kept Man, and The Melting Season, which came out in paperback in January. She has contributed to a number of anthologies and publications, including The New York Times, Salon, Print and more. Visit her online at whatever-whenever.net.
Deenah Vollmer is working on a non-fiction book about Los Angeles told through the perspective of a celebrity dog sitter. She contributes to "The New Yorker," as well as reviews and essays to "The Rumpus," "The Faster Times," and other outlets.
Kyle Thomas Smith is the author of the novel 85A (Bascom Hill, 2010). He is a regular arts-and-culture contributor to WhiteHot, Edge, and The Brooklyn Rail. He lives in Brooklyn with his partner Julius and his esteemed felines Marquez and Giuseppe.
ROHIN GUHA has had conversations with rock’n’roll queens, pop stars, painters, actors, and a maenad. Relief Work (Birds of Lace, December 2010) is his first collection of short stories. He is also hard at work on his first novel. He tends to laugh a little too loudly.

Mixer celebrated its three-year anniversary in March, 2010. This monthly reading and music series, featuring established and emerging writers and bands, is held at Cakeshop on the Lower East Side, on the third(ish) Wednesday of every month. Co-founded and curated by Melissa Febos and Rebecca Keith, Mixer is a frequent New York magazine critic’s pic, and has been recommended by Maud Newton, The New York Times, Galleycat, and the L Magazine, among others.
